To be a Confirmation sponsor, a person must be:
- At least 16 years of age
- Already Confirmed

- Not an immediate family member (sibling or parent) of the Confirmation candidate

- A practicing Catholic (attending weekly Sunday Mass, frequenting the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist often, etc.)

- Willing and able to guide the Confirmation candidate in his or her spiritual journey, and help him or her develop a better relationship with Christ.

CONFIRMATION PREPARATION DATES

As part of their preparation for the Sacrament, Confirmation Candidates are asked to come to the parish on the dates listed below, according to the school they attend. If your teen cannot attend on the date scheduled for him or her, he or she can attend one of the other sessions for the other schools.

**There is no need to call the office to let us know you are coming on a different date as long as your child signs in.

**Special Class dates are To Be Determined.

In addition to their Confirmation Preparation Milestones, Confirmation Candidates are asked to attend at least one session of the Edge program per each of the five “blocks” (i.e. a minimum of 5 sessions, spread throughout the school year).

Attending the Edge program supplements the Sacramental preparation given at the schools by providing Confirmation Candidates an opportunity to practice their faith outside of school, meet new friends and good peer role models that will support them on their faith journey, and develop a closer relationship with Jesus through catechesis, prayer and fellowship.

Registration for the Edge program is FREE and you can download the Edge form by clicking here:"Youth Ministry Registration Form." The Confirmation registration was sent to schools, but can also be picked up at the parish office. Please bring both forms (Confirmation and Edge) together to the main office. For Edge nights, please come downstairs to sign your child in and out. You can also give us written authorization on the registration form to let you child walk/bike home or get a ride with someone else.

Attendance will be recorded. Edge is always on Fridays from 6:45 pm - 9:00 pm, except for long weekends, holidays and when large youth ministry events take place. Note: Teens can attend as many sessions as they wish, although socials and special events do not count as part of the “blocks”.
